HOW TO ORDER A WEDDING CAKE
The wedding cake booking process
At Birch House Bakery we provide a bespoke cake service to ensure together we create the perfect cake for your wedding day. Below you will find an outline of the process from initial enquiry through to delivery.
Check availability of your date
Once you have secured a venue for your wedding please get in touch to see if your wedding date is available.
I only book a limited number of wedding each month and recommend you book your wedding cake at least 9-12 months prior to your wedding date.
Book a complimentary consultation
If your date is available we will then schedule a time for a zoom consultation to discuss design ideas, cake size, flavours as well as a few details of your day.
I'll then come back to you with an outline design and estimate for your cake. If you'd like to move ahead at that point I charge a £120 non-refundable deposit to secure your date.
If you would also like to taste some cake you can order a tasting box online to be posted to your home.
Our tasting box includes 4 pre-chosen flavours at the price of £30 and are available at set times throughout the year. Please see link below for our next postal date.
The cake design
Once you have secured your date following a design consultation and payment of a £120 non-refundable deposit, I will then begin to work on your detailed proposal. This will include, design details, flavours, delivery and price.
You will also receive a digital sketch of your cake design for you to approve (one amendment is included in this service). This digital sketch is also a perfect keepsake for your future!
Around 6 weeks before your wedding date I will be in touch to confirm all the details with you.
At this point the balance of your wedding cake will be due which you will receive as an invoice. This will include the deduction of your deposit.
Two weeks before your wedding I will contact your venue to arrange delivery times. I will also liaise with your florist, should you be using florals, to ensure they are at the venue on the day for me to dress the cake with.
