How do I order?
Do you offer consultations and tastings?
I offer face to face Design and Tasting Consultations at my country kitchen in West Sussex, which are available to book throughout the year. A Tasting Consultation is a great opportunity for us to meet and discuss your design style, flavours and set up in detail to create your perfect wedding cake. Please feel free to bring along any photos, stationary or colour swatches which you would like to use as inspiration.
Consultations can be booked online and are priced at £40 which is then fully refundable against your wedding cake order should you proceed.
Luxury postal cake boxes are available at two dates throughout the year. These boxes comprise of our wedding cake flavour selection delivered to your chosen address for you to sample at your leisure. Please enquire about our next postal cake service.
How much does a cake cost?
All wedding cakes are made bespoke making no two cakes are the same or the same price. Wedding cake prices start from £5.50* per serve and then are priced depending on flavour choice, size and design elements and intricacies.
I welcome couples to discuss the budget range for their cake at the consultation stage so we can design the perfect cake to fit within their expectations.
*2022 pricing - non vegan/gluten or diary free
Do you make gluten/dairy free and vegan cakes?
I can cater for dairy and gluten free and offer a range of vegan cake flavours. Should you wish to cater for a small number of guests with these requirements I would encourage you to select one tier of your cake to be selected for this purpose - typically the top tier.
What size cake should I have?
You can either serve your cake as a finger portion sample or as dessert. Finger portions are typically sized at 1”x 1” x 3.5” and I would recommend you cater for around 90-100% of your guests. Dessert portions are sized at 2” x 1” x 3.5” and I would recommend you cater for 100% of your guests. Any cake leftovers can be cut, wrapped and frozen to be enjoyed at a later date.
Should you wish to have a tall cake with multiple tiers over and above the number you need to serve you can also opt for dummy tiers in your cake. This can also be discussed in detail at your design consultation.
Do you or does my florist supply flowers for the cake?
Should you opt for beautiful fresh florals on your cake I recommend you order flowers for the cake from your florist keeping consistency across the wedding florals and cake florals. Cake flowers are typically left at the venue on the morning by the florist for me to then finish on the cake. As part of the wedding cake service I liaise with your florist about these arrangements.
Do you have a delivery service?
I offer a delivery and set-up service for wedding cakes which is free for venues within a 15km radius of Balcombe, West Sussex. Please enquiry about additional prices for delivery to your venue. Collection is also available from my premises for smaller cakes.
Do you have cake stands for hire?
I believe your cake should be presented beautifully on your cake table. As such an elegant cake stand can elevate your cake. Should your venue or suppliers not have a suitable cake stand for your use I have a selection of stunning cake stand for you to choose from.
Cake stands are available for you to hire for the day for a £30 fee. Please contact me to receive a list of my cake stands. I am happy to advise which stand will compliment your cake.
A deposit of £90 is requested per stand and will be returned to you in full once the cake stand has been returned and is in the same condition as you received it. I request these are returned within five days of your wedding day as may be required for other clients.
How do I secure my date and pay for my cake?
You can secure your date for a non-refundable or transferable booking fee of £120.
The final balance for your cake is due 8 weeks before your wedding which you will receive a reminder about via email. All wedding cakes are invoiced and payment is made through BACs bank transfer.
Quotations for cakes are valid for 12 months from the date of issue then subject to change in line with pricing and inflation.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made in writing by post or email. As your cake booking and date is reserved for you all booking fees of £120 are non-refundable and non-transferable to an alternative date. Should you wish to cancel your order the following terms apply: For wedding cake orders cancelled more than 8 weeks in advance of your date only the booking fee is forfeited. For orders cancelled within 6 weeks, the full balance paid is forfeited. In the event that we are unable to supply your order on the agreed date due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, accident, injury, bereavement etc., we reserve the right to seek substitute companies to fulfil the order. In the event that a substitute cake designer cannot be arranged we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund.
What is your Covid-19 policy?
In light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, we are monitoring Government Guidelines and currently our business is operating as usual.
In the event that your booking is deferred because the Government orders all cancellations/postponement of gatherings above a specific number, then we will endeavour to find a later date that we can agree on, subject to availability.
A £50 administration fee will apply for these changes - plus surcharges may apply to subsequent changes made to the cake design, cake size, venue location and dates.
If you choose to cancel your booking but the venue is still operating as usual and guidance says it can go ahead then, unfortunately, we are unable to refund your deposit and our standard cancellation policy applies.
Wedding insurance is fully recommended to couples to cover any loses due to the pandemic.
